Big wild sleepout

Last weekend, RSPB had its Big Wild Sleep out event. I don’t have a backyard living in London, but luckily I was visiting family in Somerset for long weekend.

It was a great opportunity to participate and also a chance to check my gear before hiking in the Alps in a few weeks.

I pitched the tent in a quiet corner of the garden, much to the amusement of others. I felt like a kid again. So much fun. I really got to enjoy the garden and saw a lot more birds than I usually do.

The best thing about sleeping outside is waking up outside. The fresh dew on the grass and the soft early light on the garden are so beautiful. I highly recommend it.
