Pop-up gardens: the solution to a lack of your own space?

Community gardens have been around for a while, but the waiting lists for your own plots are long. Also, their location may not be as convenient as a pop-up garden.

While walking along one of London’s canals this evening, I noticed these lovely pop-up gardens. Raised wooden boxes, out of dog-leg height, full of herbs and even fruit trees. This unused space put to good use and likely benefitting the close-knit house boat community.
