How to live in the city and work in the country

I live in central London, but work in the country. Everyday I get to stroll through woods and heath on my lunch hour. This is especially nice during winter so you can see daylight and be outside. And, I still get to take advantage of all the art galleries, cafes and other exciting city stuff in my backyard.

It is a perfect balance for couples where one of you wants to be in the city and the other the country.

The downside is the long and expensive commute, but it feels amazing to be in wide open spaces throughout the week. I also get to read on the train and be social with the other reverse commuters. The trains aren’t at all packed and you get a seat every time, unlike the tube.
